  • Not in my wildest dreams did I imagine we would learn this much, both on a physical and personal level. The way my Yoga has developed during these few weeks is amazing. Ben & Tatiana are both beautiful individuals and good role models. It’s been an incredibly healing experience.

    Lina (and Daniel), psychologists
    Stockholm, Sweden

  • in 17 days my practice has become rock solid, and I'm connected to the most profound sense of purpose. What I love about this practice, as a former dancer, is that it is NOT performative – it's supportive, and challenges in the right ways.

Nilaya Sabnis, ex-professional dancer turned photographer, and social justice activist

LUXYOGA VINYASA seamlessly integrates classical postures, modern mobility, and Katonah yoga into a vinyasa context for a dynamic yet sustainable practice that balances strength and flexibility. A clear system of “essential connections” and diagonal cross-references leads you to awareness of physical corners often left unexplored in other practices. Practical philosophy and the metaphor of the body as a house weave threads of insight into a braid of knowledge – a Sutra Atman, thread of self – the essence of practice.

The Curriculum

2 LUXYOGA Sequences & Variations

+ Sequences: LUXYOGA Vinyasa is like nothing else in the world. It hits the nooks and crannies of the body most practices miss, and the magic is in the details. Learn  complete practices with variation options for all levels and necessary down-levels. These sequences will be the bedrock from which you grow your understanding of Yoga and teaching skills.

  • *Vision: Backbend Focus

  • *Insight: Folds & Flight

  • Express

Each practice begins with rotational movements to prepare the body for load-bearing, then isometrics and abdominal work (bandhas) to activate awareness, then a unique sun salutation, and sequences that balance strength, space, and flexibility.

+ Sequencing (with Variations): Tailor practices for specific needs and therapy. Learn how to build a practice that has a beginning, middle, and end. See how it’s possible to integrate Yoga Asana and Active Mobility work. Understand the arc of a practice: LUXYOGA Vinyasa sequences are broken down into sections to allow you to cut and paste, and understand sequencing. These sections are: Coax, Core, Cajole, Capacity, Climb, Coalesce, Crux.

Proven, No-Nonsense Teacher-Empowerment Paradigm

+ Philosophy: Learn to lead with integrity and apply classic teachings to modern life and teaching to be the best teacher and happiest human you can be.

+ Teaching Methodology: Develop the ability to lead clearly both in-person & online. Simple, effective and honest communication in your real voice. No theater here, our teaching labs apply just enough pressure to make diamonds. You will teach in real time during the training.

+ Kriyas (Yogic Cleansing & Empowerment Practices)

The Sacred Geometry of Yoga

+ The body is designed to fit itself: your own proportions are a living alignment map to every posture. Using measure in practice is like cooking with the right amount of ingredients at the correct temperature: you get a good result. Learn to use the inherent sacred geometry of your body and the bodies of your students to know how to center effectively and see clearly where your students need help.

Science-backed Mobility & Strength

+ Muscle & Mind = Active Mobility : crucial for both long-term health and skill development. This aspect of the training is a combination of evolved flexibility and strength work plus Functional Range Conditioning and loaded progressive stretching. Having this in your Yoga Teacher training is like getting two trainings in one.

  • Learn to integrate Yoga Asana and Active Mobility, and use progressive/regressive angle isometrics in Yoga postures.

  • Injury protocols

  • mobility as hands-on anatomy and range of motion development training

The Katonah Yoga Magic Square & Body as a House

+ Radical embodiment: Learn practical magic. The magic square and associated metaphors are a powerful tool to center yourself physically and understand  and empower yourself in the world. This information is taking the Yoga world by storm, and you will emerge from the training ready to bring the Magic Square into your teaching and practice.

Practical & Usable Anatomy

Functional Anatomy: A two-fold process - the anatomy course you will study online before training and the hands-on work during the immersion. Our straightforward integration of Functional Range Conditioning will give you clear and applicable knowledge for yourself and your students.

The Science of Breath

+ Superhuman: Science-backed Breath-work techniques increase performance, reduce anxiety, and give you back the power of self-love. Calm is a superpower.  Find your own best breath, learn to recover efficiently, and dive into the anatomy of breath. Learn classic Yoga Techniques (Pranayama), Yogic Breathing, Blood-oxygen level self-testing. Incredible stuff.

Effortless Mindfulness Meditation

+ Dhyana (Meditation): Learn non-religious glimpsing techniques to shift into freedom.

+ Journaling: Learn and practice transformative self-reflective writing - Raja Yoga for the modern yogi, or, as one of our students put it: "some powerful sh*%"

Adjustments

Take the first steps towards empowered, effective, and compassionate physical assists.

No Bull Business of Teaching

+ Yoga Business - Guidelines for Growth: No one is going to hand you a job, but the material you learn at training will set you apart. Now, how do you get your foot in the door? We will cover how to get your name in the ring, develop an online presence, and much more.

FAQ’S

  • How proficient in Yoga do I have to be?

This training is much about learning how to balance sustainability and intensity in a complete practice. Much of the work for some is, ironically, unlearning common mistakes that lead practitioners to practice postures without the details that make them both therapeutic and invigorating. This training will be physically and mentally challenging regardless of your level of experience. You need to show up ready to do the work. We feel that one of the responsibilities of a teacher is a solid (not necessarily acrobatic) practice.

  • What should I expect?

Expect to emerge with a foundation that will support you in any physical endeavor, the tools for self-practice, the skills to begin teaching right away, and a community that will support you going forward. During the training, it is important that you sign on to the process by connecting with your fellow trainees, learning the material, and that you prioritize getting rest during your time off. Each day you will have one or two physical practices as well as meditation and breathing, teaching practice, and special modules on certain days.

  • What kind of food will be provided?

All LUXYOGA meals are entirely gluten-free and essentially paleo with vegan/vegetarian needs covered. At training, all meals will buffet style. At LUXYOGA, we believe in real food that supports strong practice, and you will be enjoying the same quality of cuisine we offer on our retreats — Benjamin wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • Is there free time?

Every day begins at 8AM, includes a significant lunch break, and most days will conclude before 7PM. Your program may include a couple of after-dinner modules, but we prioritize rest and recovery. Please refer to the sample day schedule for more detail. The ranch is in a stunning remote location and you won’t have access to transportation during the training outside of our group excursions.

  • How many students will be in the training?

There will be a maximum of 10 students at the June Montana training. It is indeed a special opportunity to study with master teachers in a smaller-than-usual group.

  • What kind of certification will I receive?

You will receive a 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification if you complete all coursework to the satisfaction of the faculty and submit to YA for your certification. We do not sell certificates, and if certified, you represent Benjamin Sears Yoga. We will make every effort to prepare you to teach and empower you with tools to continue your growth.

  • What’s the weather like?

March will be a winter wonderland. We recommend bringing some true Winter gear to be able to enjoy the snowy trails around the property.

  • What do I need to bring ?

Plenty of yoga clothes, shoes or sneakers that you can hike in, bathing suit, and whatever else you would typically need for this type of immersion. We will provide yoga mats, straps, blocks, rolls – all the goods – however, if you prefer a specific type of mat, you should bring your own mat

  • What is included in the cost?

For all full accommodation packages, everything from three LUXYOGA chef-prepared meals daily to lodging and arrival and departure shuttles is included. For all students, the curriculum and yoga props are included in the tuition.

  • What is your refund policy?

We have a strict no refund policy. No refunds or credits will be issued for any reason.

  • How do I apply?
